Alientech has released Upgrade 3.65 for the KESS3, introducing new BENCH and BOOT protocols for Yamaha N-Max 125 and X-Max 125 scooters. This update enhances the tuning capabilities for these models, equipped with the Denso XXX-H594A-XX ECU family.
For workshops, this means expanded operational possibilities with the latest Yamaha scooters, allowing for more comprehensive tuning and repair services.
What new protocols are available?
The latest KESS3 update introduces two new access modes for Yamaha N-Max 125 and X-Max 125 scooters:
- BOOT Mode: Enables full ECU reading and writing by connecting directly to the circuit board with the ECU opened.
- BENCH Mode: Offers Virtual Reading by connecting directly to the ECU connector without opening it, ideal for ECUs already removed from the vehicle.
These new modes complement the existing OBD connection in Virtual Reading mode, providing workshops with greater flexibility.
Which Yamaha models are supported?
The update supports Yamaha N-Max 125 and X-Max 125 models, specifically:
- 2021 models: B6Y and BMJ
- 2025 models: BPB
All these models are equipped with the Denso XXX-H594A-XX ECU family, including:
- Denso B6Y-H594A-20
- Denso BPB-H594A-00
- Denso BMJ-H594A-00
Why are these changes important for workshops?
With the introduction of BENCH and BOOT modes, workshops gain multiple access options for the RH850 HWII family ECUs. This flexibility is crucial for tailoring services to specific operational needs, whether it’s tuning or repairs.
What this means for your workshop
For Alt Tune file service customers, the KESS3 Upgrade 3.65 offers significant advantages. The new protocols enable workshops to handle a wider range of tuning and repair jobs on Yamaha N-Max and X-Max 125 scooters. By utilising the BENCH and BOOT modes, mechanics can choose the most appropriate method for each situation, enhancing service efficiency and expanding the scope of jobs they can confidently quote.
